Thaimaster

Oooh I just found a great site on Thai cooking - Adventures in Thai Cooking & Travel. It has a little atlas of ingredients used in Thai cooking, including which brands are the best! And, you can even print out a pdf to take to the store! Brilliance. This is a great resource, because I've often found myself in the Ranch 99 trying to decide which mysterious jar of goo to buy. Seriously. I love Thai food, and I haven't had much success cooking it at home. Hopefully the ingredient atlas will set me straight. And I can't wait to try to Thai iced tea recipe....

Let's ride bikes!

Summer days are made for long, leisurely bike rides. But don't you hate it when you step outside the dormitory and find that your bicycle has been completely consumed by tent caterpillars? What, that's never happened to you? Well, I know it can be hard to imagine so here is a picture to help. The bonus is that you don't need a bike lock - the tent caterpillars are more than enough disincentive to steal your wheels. You can see the whole gallery here. Warning: These are hands down the nastiest pictures of tent caterpillars I have ever seen (or hope to see) in my flippin' LIFE! And I've done a fair bit of research on these suckers, since I had a wee infestation of tents a few years ago. But these pictures, ladies and gents, are... frankly disturbing. I have to go take a shower now.

Insert tile pun here.

It's been a while since I've done any home improvement projects (unless you count vacuuming), but that doesn't stop me from making plans. I've done a little tile work in my time, and I really like Dominic Crinson's tile designs. Warning: if you click on the link, turn your computer speakers off. The music on this site did something weird to my brain. Sort of like a neurological version of the brown note.
